What happens in the week leading up to a Sunday service, what happens on Sunday morning and what happens after the service each Sunday!
The Morning tea team is already preparing the cups of coffee and Tea as the service is finishing. They work hard and will be doing dishes and wiping benches long after most have gone home. If Sam is on duty with the Hard Knox Coffee she is taking orders and feeding our espresso fix.
The offering is counted in the office and all the details are recorded before one of the team manages the banking.
The Heroes Team are packing down any games or crafts from their morning activities. The Wheels to Worship drivers are talking to those on the bus to let them know when the bus leaves. The Tech Team is shutting down the computer, turning off the sound system, large screens and the lights in the McLauchlan Room
Finally the duty Elder is working away behind the scenes cleaning glasses and communion equipment if it’s a communion service. They will also keep an eye on equipment and furniture, making sure it is all returned to where it came from. Once most of those attending have left, they will do their final checks. All the doors are locked, lights are off, toilets are cleared, signs are brought in before the facilities are locked and armed.
Many moving parts to the life and ministry of our Sunday Worship Service. It truly is a community event, a church family working together in worship for the glory of God.
